Facebook Live has been building momentum, backed by an aggressive advertising campaign. Originally launched to the public on April 6, 2016, the adoption rate has been steadily increasing, and as a result, we are getting reliable analytics data that has proven to be illuminating.

For social media marketers, customer/client engagement is paramount. A Facebook Live audience comments 10x more and watch 3x longer than on a standard video content post. That’s a big deal!

This increased engagement offers an incredible opportunity to supplement your brand’s video marketing. This makes Facebook live great for:

  1. Webinars – the increased audience engagement makes it great for having an interactive webinar. And it’s free, so there’s that.
  2. Event Promotion – people have a fear of missing out. Show them what they missed, and they will remember for the next time.
  3. Video Blogs – Facebook Live is a great way to instantly capitalize on trending topics before they are yesterday’s news
  4. Podcasts – the longer viewing times can increase the likelihood that you hook your audience, netting more subscribers and ultimately conversions or sponsorship dollars.

Those are just a few examples. Though these would all make for effective use of the technology, I foresee the real winner of the Facebook Live marketing race taking an innovative approach that comes out of left field, and then we’ll be gifted with terabytes of derivative content marketing articles and videos about that approach for months.

At the time I am writing this blog, there isn’t a single B2B or B2C company that is crushing it, but there will be soon. Like anything else, the first one to the party gets the prize.

Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose.”

The time to act is now. I would love the opportunity to work out a strategy for integrating Facebook Live into a new or existing video marketing strategy, so send us a message and let’s connect.
